Informativa sul trattamento dei dati personali

Ultimo aggiornamento: 24 ottobre 2026 · Versione italiana facente fede

In breve.

Puoi scaricare i tuoi dati o cancellare l'account direttamente dall'app: Impostazioni → I tuoi dati.

1. Chi tratta i tuoi dati

Titolare del trattamento: Amirhossein Yaghoubnezhad

Indirizzo:

Contatto: info@frix.me

P.IVA:

Tu, usando l'app
Spese e cronologia Sessioni di spesa: negozio o punto vendita, data e ora, articoli acquistati, prezzi stimati e pagati, sconti, totali, note. Tu, usando l'app

5. Chi vede i tuoi dati e a chi li comunichiamo

Altri utenti

  • Supabase Inc. — database e autenticazione.

7. Per quanto tempo conserviamo i dati

DatoConservazione
Account, profilo, liste, carte fedeltàFinché mantieni l'account.
Segnalazioni, punti, badge, foto e prodotti propostiFinché mantieni l'account.

8. I tuoi diritti

Ai sensi degli artt. 15-22 GDPR hai diritto di:

  • accedere ai tuoi dati e ottenerne copia;
  • rettificare dati inesatti o incompleti;
  • cancellare i tuoi dati («diritto all'oblio»);
  • limitare il trattamento in determinati casi;
  • ricevere i tuoi dati in formato strutturato, di uso comune e leggibile da dispositivo automatico, e trasmetterli ad altro titolare (portabilità);
  • opporti al trattamento basato sul legittimo interesse, in particolare alla pubblicazione anonima dei prezzi dei tuoi scontrini, alla presenza nella classifica e alle proposte basate sulle tue spese;

Come esercitarli

12 GDPR.

9. Reclamo all'autorità di controllo

Piazza Venezia 11 — 00187 Roma

Centralino: +39 06 696771

E-mail: protocollo@gpdp.it — PEC: protocollo@pec.gpdp.it

www.garanteprivacy.it

Puoi inoltre rivolgerti all'autorità giudiziaria.

10. Minori

Privacy notice

Last updated: 2026-10-24 · Courtesy translation — the Italian version prevails

In short. ShopFrix keeps what it needs to run your lists, the price comparison and the community side of the service: your account, your lists, your shopping history and, if you contribute, your price reports, photos and the products you suggest. We do not sell your data, we show no advertising, we use no tracking or analytics tools, and we do not profile you for advertising.

What others see. Prices you report appear without your name: only the value, the day and the branch. Your username, level and points appear on the leaderboard, which signed-in users can see. People you share a list with see your name, username and profile picture.

You can download your data or delete your account from inside the app: Settings → Your data.

1. Who processes your data

Data controller: Amirhossein Yaghoubnezhad

Address:

Contact: info@frix.me

VAT number:

ShopFrix is an independent, free project run by a private individual acting as data controller. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed, as the conditions in GDPR art. 37 do not apply. For anything concerning your data, write to the address above, in Italian or English.

The people who help us run ShopFrix (the administrators) access data only within the permissions they are given, under the controller's authority and bound to confidentiality (GDPR art. 29): see section 5.

2. What we collect

CategoryDataSource
AccountEmail address, display name, the username you choose, password (kept only as a hash by our authentication provider, never readable by us), country, sign-up and last sign-in dates. If you sign in with Google or Telegram: the account identifier, name, email and profile picture that service passes to us.You, at sign-up; Google or Telegram if you choose them
ProfileDisplay name, username, profile picture (if you sign in with Google or Telegram we keep a copy of it from the first sign-in), an optional town you enter, country, receipt-keeping preferences.You
Shopping listsList name, items, quantities, notes, the specific products you pick, the sharing code and list members.You, using the app
Shoppings and historyShopping sessions: shop or branch, date and time, items bought, estimated and actual prices, discounts, totals, notes.You, using the app
ReceiptsThe receipt photograph, kept for the period you choose (90 days unless you change it), and what we read from it automatically: purchase lines, subtotal, discounts, tax, total.You, when you upload a receipt
Community contributionsReports of a price, offer or availability: product, chain, branch or the chain's website/app, kind of report, price or offer, offer end date, optional note, time sent.
Prices from receipts: when you save a shopping, the prices of lines linked to a catalogue product, for purchases in the last 14 days, are sent automatically as reports.
Product photos you send, together with who sent them, which is needed to review them.
New products you suggest: barcode, name, brand, pack size, price, shop, note and any pack photos.
You, when you contribute or save a shopping
Points, levels, badges and missionsThe ledger of points you received and why, your level, the badges you earned, mission progress (worked out from your contributions and your shopping).Generated by the service from what you do
Loyalty cardsRetailer, card number, description, barcode type. The number is encrypted in our database and decrypted only when your device draws the barcode or when you export your data.You
Device locationOnly if you grant the system permission, and only when you use a feature that needs it: finding the shop you are in, nearby shops, the map, distances in the comparison. We ask the system for a precise position, if you grant it (you can pick an approximate one): while the app is open it tells which shop you are in, to offer to start shopping there. Only if you turn on "Tell me when I'm at a shop" in Settings and allow location "all the time" does the Android app use your location while it is closed or not in use: the phone itself checks whether you walk into one of the nearest shops (geofences) and shows a notification; when you move a few kilometres the app asks our database again for the shops around you. On the web it works only while the page is open. You can turn it off at any time; signing out turns it off too. To find nearby branches the app asks our database for the shops within an area around you: the position is not saved, neither in your profile nor with your reports, and we do not reconstruct your movements.Your device, with your consent
SupportIf you write to us from the help page: your name, email address or Telegram account, and the messages we exchange.You, when you ask for help
Technical and security dataIP address, request timestamps, server technical logs. To protect sign-in and sign-up from automated attempts: IP address and a non-reversible fingerprint (hash) of the email address used.Automatically, as you use the service

We collect no payment data: ShopFrix sells nothing and processes no payments. What the camera sees while reading a barcode is processed on your device and never sent to us; we receive only the photos you choose to send: receipts, product photos, and the pack photo we read the name, brand and size from.

4. Data that can reveal health or beliefs

A shopping list can say more than it looks like it does. A consistently gluten-free or lactose-free list can suggest a medical condition; certain products can suggest religious or philosophical beliefs. These are special categories of data under GDPR art. 9.

Our commitment: we do not use this information to profile you, we do not infer personal characteristics from it, we do not disclose it to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Some features use what you buy, in a limited and automatic way: the products we suggest you re-check come from your shoppings, and a mission can be shown only to people who recently shopped at a given shop or bought a given kind of product. Administrators creating a mission see only how many people it will reach, never who. We do not target missions by products or categories that can reveal health or beliefs, such as gluten-free or lactose-free products, medicines and pharmacy products, or halal or kosher products.

If we ever use purchasing habits for anything else, we will update this notice first and, where the law requires it, ask for separate, explicit consent.

5. Who sees your data, and who we share it with

Other users

  • Members of a shared list: the contents of that list, and your display name, username and profile picture. They do not see your history, your receipts, your loyalty cards or your location.
  • Signed-in users: on the leaderboard, your username, level and points; for prices you report or that come from your receipts, the value, the day and the branch, never your name or your note; approved photos and products, without your name.
  • There is no public profile page, and nobody without an account sees anything about you.

The people we authorise to run ShopFrix access data only as far as their tasks require (catalogue, prices, support, moderation, security), each with only the permissions needed. For example, they see who sent a photo or a product so they can review it and, where they hold the permission, a user's account details and lists in order to fix a problem.

Providers processing data on our behalf

They act as processors under GDPR art. 28 and process data only on our instructions:

  • Supabase Inc. — database and authentication. Data is hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
  • IONOS SE — the server, located in Germany, that runs the web app, receipt and pack reading, product image delivery and the database backups. Receipts and packs are read on this server, with no third-party service involved.
  • Zoho Corporation B.V. — sending account emails (confirmation codes, password resets) from servers in the European Union.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — domain management and network protection for our sites; may process IP addresses and technical request data.

The help page uses Support Frix, our own support service.

Third-party services acting as independent controllers

Some features put your device in direct contact with third-party services, which receive at least your IP address and handle data under their own policies:

  • Google and Telegram — only if you choose to sign in with one of them, or to receive support replies on Telegram. At first sign-in the app downloads your profile picture once from their servers to keep a copy with us; if that copy fails, the picture keeps loading from their servers, including on the devices of people you share a list with.
  • Maps — on the web, the store map uses OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address and the map area shown; in the Android app the map is provided by Google Maps, in the iOS app by Apple Maps.
  • Google ML Kit (Android app only) — reads barcodes on the phone itself. Images never leave the device, but Google may receive technical information about how the library is used and performs.
  • Open Food Facts — product images normally come from our server; only if it does not respond may your device load them directly from Open Food Facts. When you scan a product it is our server, not your device, that asks Open Food Facts about the barcode, and it sends only the barcode.
  • Sites you open yourself — directions in Google Maps or Apple Maps, product and flyer pages on the chains' websites, Open Food Facts pages.
  • Supermarkets' image servers — only if you agree to see supermarket photos loaded directly from them: see below.

Supermarket photos (loaded from them only with your consent)

Many of the product photos you see in lists, the catalogue and product pages are the ones the supermarkets publish. Without your consent we fetch them from the supermarket and send them to you from our own server: the supermarket sees our server, not you. Photos of flyer offers that are not in our catalogue are not shown without consent. You choose in the “Supermarket photos” window the app shows you once, in the box on the flyer page or in Settings → Supermarket photos; the choice applies only on the device where you make it: another device, or another account on the same device, is asked again.

If you agree, your device loads these photos directly from the supermarket's servers, not from ours: the supermarket receives your IP address, technical details of your device and browser, and which picture you asked for; depending on the browser, also any cookies its site has already set for you. The supermarket handles this data as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. Your browser sends the supermarket at most the address of the ShopFrix site, never that of the page you are looking at, and we put no identifier of yours in the picture's address. If the supermarket's server refuses to give your device a photo, the app asks our server for it instead, as without consent. Photos of flyer offers never go through our server: we keep only their address.

The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and, where applicable, art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code). You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it: “Turn off” under the photos on the flyer page, or Settings → Supermarket photos. Withdrawal does not affect loading that already happened. We record each choice (consent, refusal or withdrawal), with the version of the notice shown, the platform and the date, so that we can demonstrate consent.

The supermarkets and their image servers are listed on the page Who receives data from supermarket photos; a supermarket's flyer-offer photos appear only after ShopFrix has checked its terms and enabled it. Some of these servers are content delivery networks (CDNs), and which country a photo comes from depends on the supermarket's network; if we add a supermarket or a server, this section will say so first, and you will be asked for consent again. Tapping an offer that is not in our catalogue opens the product's page on the supermarket's site: a page you open yourself, like the other sites listed above.

Authorities

We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.

6. Where data is stored, and transfers outside the EU

The database is hosted in the European Union (Ireland), our server is in Germany, and account emails are sent from servers in the European Union.

Some providers (Supabase Inc., Cloudflare, Inc., Google, Telegram) are established outside the European Union. Where data may reach them, even only for technical support or network protection, the transfer relies on a European Commission adequacy decision (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for participating companies) or on the Commission's standard contractual clauses (GDPR arts. 45-46). Signing in with Google or Telegram is governed by their own policies: you can avoid it by registering with an email address and password.

7. How long we keep it

DataRetention
Account, profile, lists, loyalty cardsFor as long as you keep the account. Deleted when you delete it.
Receipt photographs90 days by default. In settings you can choose 30 or 365 days, or turn keeping off, in which case the photograph is read and not saved. The purchase lines read from it stay in your history.
Purchase historyFor as long as you keep the account, and in any case no longer than 24 months of inactivity: if you do not sign in for two years, your recorded shoppings are deleted.
Reports, points, badges, photos and suggested productsFor as long as you keep the account.
Choices about supermarket photosFor as long as you keep the account. Deleted when you delete it. The choice saved on the device is cleared when you sign out.
What remains after you delete your accountThese stay, with no remaining link to you: prices already published from your reports or receipts, price history (which never records who reported a price), photos already approved, and catalogue products created from your approved suggestions. Your reports, points, badges, photos not yet reviewed and pending suggestions are deleted.
Support conversationsAs long as needed to handle the request and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Sign-in and sign-up protection (IP address, email hash)Deleted periodically, normally after 7 days. Addresses blocked for abuse are kept until 30 days after the block ends.
Server technical logsA limited period, as needed for diagnosis and abuse prevention.
BackupsNightly copies of the database kept on our server for 14 days, with restricted access, then overwritten: deleted data disappears from the backups within that period. Our providers may keep their own backups for short periods.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR arts. 15–22 you have the right to:

  • access your data and obtain a copy;
  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erase your data (the "right to be forgotten");
  • restrict processing in certain cases;
  • receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and pass it to another controller (portability);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, in particular the anonymous publication of prices from your receipts, your place on the leaderboard and suggestions based on your shopping;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

How to exercise them

  • Copy and portability: Settings → Your data → Export my data. You get a JSON file with everything we hold for your account: your account and profile, the lists you created and the lists you are a member of (with the people on them, shown only by username), your shopping history, receipt data, your loyalty cards, your reports and the votes you cast, the products you suggested, the photos you sent, published prices recorded as sent by you, your points, badges and mission rewards, your choices about supermarket photos and, if you are an administrator, your role. Receipt photographs, and product photos beyond roughly the first 5 MB, go into the file if you choose to add them when you export. The file holds your loyalty card numbers in plain text: keep it safe.
  • Erasure: Settings → Your data → Delete my account. Immediate and irreversible; what is deleted and what remains anonymously is described in section 7. Lists you created are removed for every member, together with everything linked to them.
  • Rectification: name, username, picture and country can be changed in your profile and settings; for anything else, write to us.

For any other right, or if you would rather write to us, the address is info@frix.me. We respond within one month, as required by GDPR art. 12.

9. Complaining to the supervisory authority

If you believe the processing of your data breaches the GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali:

Piazza Venezia 11 — 00187 Rome, Italy

Switchboard: +39 06 696771

Email: protocollo@gpdp.it — PEC: protocollo@pec.gpdp.it

www.garanteprivacy.it

You may also bring the matter before the courts.

10. Children

In Italy the minimum age for digital consent is 14 (art. 2-quinquies, Legislative Decree 196/2003). ShopFrix is not intended for anyone under 14, and at sign-up we ask you to confirm that you are 14 or older. If we learn of an account held by a child under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we delete it.

11. Automated decision-making

We take no decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you (GDPR art. 22).

Some automatic rules run the community side of the service: a reported price is published only if it matches the price already shown or if at least two people report the same value within 14 days; a price far from the product's recent average may be refused; reports and points have daily limits. If you think one of these rules got it wrong for you, write to us: a person will look at it.

12. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures under GDPR art. 32: encrypted connections; passwords stored only as hashes; database-level isolation so each user can reach only their own data and that of the lists they share; separate permissions for each administrator; rate limiting to prevent abuse; encryption of loyalty card numbers; backups with restricted access; minimising what we retain. No system is invulnerable: in the event of a personal data breach we will notify the Garante where GDPR art. 33 requires it and, if it poses a high risk to your rights, inform you as required by GDPR art. 34.

13. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice materially, we update the date at the top and tell you in the app. Earlier versions remain available on request.

14. About the prices and the retailers named

ShopFrix is an independent service: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any of the retailers named, whose names are used only to identify their shops and products. Prices come from the retailers' publicly accessible websites, from users' reports and receipts, and from checks by the ShopFrix team; each price shows when it was last checked. The details are in the Terms of service.
